Feathered feather, or Feather of John (Latin Stípa pennáta from Latin: Pennatus - feather) - a species of grass from the genus Feather of the family Cereals (Poaceae). The plant received a species epithet for soft hairs resembling feathers with which its long spine is covered. Perennial plant up to 1 meter high. The plant is widespread in the steppes of Russia and Kazakhstan, and some small islands are also found in the forest-steppe zone of Western Siberia on the warm southern slopes. This species is often grown in gardens as an ornamental plant. Cirrus feathery is able to grow almost throughout Russia, except in the extreme north.
